TUF/PAC Smaller Projects Cancer Research Initiative
Closing Date: 30/03/2025
Funding to support research into the diagnosis and treatment of urological cancers.
The Urology Foundation (TUF), a registered charity established in 1995, promotes and supports research and education for the better treatment, diagnosis and prevention of all urological conditions. These include cancer and diseases of the prostate, kidney, bladder and testes, male infertility, erectile dysfunction and incontinence.
Set up as a UK registered charity in 2013, Penguins Against Cancer (PAC) seeks to combat cancer. Its founders were drawn from Guy’s Hospital Penguins, a rugby club that supports cancer research, cancer treatment and hospices.
The Urology Foundation and Penguins Against Cancer have introduced a fund to benefit patients undergoing treatment for urological cancers. Grants are available to fund audit or quality improvement projects, or to introduce new equipment or procedures on the ward to improve the patient cancer pathway.
These awards are for small projects which could help improve understanding of cancer diagnosis or treatment pathways. Projects should aim to achieve better outcomes for patients and improve the quality of care for patients on a constant basis. TUF and PAC will also consider projects that are pilots or testing data for potentially larger research projects, or equipment purchase.
