Vereinigung für Allgemeine und Angewandte Mikrobiologie (VAAM – Association for General and Applied Microbiology) has announced a new call for its annual VAAM Research Award (VAAM-Forschungspreis). This accolade is designed to honour young scientists who have demonstrated exceptional research achievements in the field of microbiology.

Targeted at early career researchers who have not yet attained a full professorship, the award seeks to support individuals who have already established independence in their scientific work, as evidenced by high-quality publications.

Eligible candidates must be based in Germany and actively engaged in microbiological research. The award committee will assess accomplishments from the past three years. Nominations must be submitted by third parties.

The VAAM Research Award is endowed with €10,000. It is part of VAAM’s commitment to fostering scientific excellence and supporting the next generation of microbiologists in Germany.
